When Bacon workers apply for a shift and are accepted, they organize their schedules to accommodate that commitment. It is unfair to them when a company rejects their application or cancels the shift at the last minute, as they may have been relying on that work and the expected income. This is why, if a company cancels or rejects a worker within 12 hours of the shift start time, the company is obligated to compensate the worker for the inconvenience.
What Counts as a Late Cancellation or Late Rejection?
Canceling a shift within 12 hours of the shift start time.
Rejecting a worker's application within 12 hours of the shift start time.
Accepted workers who are turned away**
How Much Will Be Compensated?
The company agrees to pay 25% or $30, whichever is greater, to approved workers to compensate for lost time and earnings. (Standard Bacon fees apply)
You can expect to receive the compensation on your normal pay schedule for quick pay (2-day) or weekly pay.
**This policy does not apply to workers who show up late to a shift, who are not dressed correctly, do not meet all of the shift requirements, or who otherwise are unable to work the shift.**
